The Chinese Pharmacopoeia contains more than 900 common herbs and prescriptions.

1. The sources of prescriptions include "Treatise on Febrile Diseases", "Synopsis of the Golden Chamber" and "Medical Prescriptions" and other ancient Chinese medicine books, which specify the composition, indications and explanations of various Chinese medicines.

3. "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" and "The Synopsis of the Golden Chamber" were written by Zhang Zhongjing in the Eastern Han Dynasty. They are the first Chinese medicine clinical works that have all the principles, law, prescriptions and medicines, and integrate theory with practice. They are regarded as the classics of internal medicine in Chinese medicine.

4. "Medical Prescriptions Collection" is a Chinese medical prescription book written by Wang Ang, a physician in the Qing Dynasty. It extracts predecessors' explanations of prescriptions and describes the indications, compatibility and addition and subtraction of each prescription.
