The Radio is an important object in the Silent Hill series and is always at the beginning of the game. The main function of the radio is to alert the protagonist of the presence of nearby monsters by emitting static. All the radios that are throughout the series adopt different forms and styles, in each game the protagonist collects one being an indispensable tool. All of them can be turned off at any time of the game, although doing so almost never has any benefit. Most monsters emit static and the protagonist can hear and be warned that an enemy can be very close to you.
