This winter season, download the Ski 2 The Moon app and help create history whilst skiing and snowboarding in the biggest snowsports event ever!

In partnership with Ski Tracks (the world’s most popular Ski and Snowboard application) youth charity Snow-Camp have developed the Ski 2 The Moon app, with all the functionality of Ski Tracks but with extra features that link everyone participating to create one monster snowsports event with one goal – to reach the Moon!

Wherever you are skiing or snowboarding in the world you can join in - just download the app, set yourself a personal goal and get skiing or boarding. The Ski 2 the Moon app enables everyone with access to an iPhone to participate in the Challenge. Every mile you ski is tracked by the app, then combined with everybody else’s in pursuit of our target – the Moon – 238,855 miles away.

The tracking features include your total distance, total vertical distance, speed and your duration of time on the slopes - along with the GPS tracked route of your day mapped on Google earth.

A range of cartoon characters names after Olympians Jenny Jones (a lady hare) and James Woods (a cool tortoise) feature throughout the app, encouraging you to keep going, congratulating you on reaching milestones towards your target and awarding your achievements.

The App is free, but as a charity event participants are encouraged to create a Just Giving page detailing their personal goal, which they can easily share. Set your own fundraising target at a level you are comfortable with within the app, all funds raised support Snow-Camp’s work with inner city young people. (Reg. Ski 2 The Moon uses special algorithms designed for mountain users to accurately calculate your speed, slope angle and ski vertical.

Share your ski or snowboard day, your distance achievements and other awards with friends on Facebook.

MAPS 

Ski 2 The Moon uses Apple Maps to display your track within the app from start to finish

Note 2. Ski2 The Moon does not need data or a phone signal to record your day, the location system on your Phone may from time to time use data for location fixes, we have no control over this. THEREFORE WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND SETTING DATA ROAMING OFF IF YOU ARE USING YOUR PHONE ABROAD.
