Wuthering Waves 2.1 Update: Maintenance Time, Release Date, Banners and More

Wuthering Waves is an anime-themed open-world action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world.

The Wuthering Waves 2.1 update (named "Waves Sing, and the Cerulean Bird Calls") is set to launch on this Thursday, February 13. In this early February update, players can expect a tonne of new introductions, including new characters, weapons, events, a permanent endgame challenge mode, and expand the Rinascita map.

Prepare for the maintenance for the 2.1 update on February 13, 2025, at 4 AM (UTC+8)! This maintenance downtime will last for 7 hours, concluding at 11 AM (UTC+8). During this period, players will be unable to log in to the game.

Characters

Two new 5-star banners and a banner rerun:

Phoebe: A Spectro character who uses a Rectifier as her weapon. She is an Acolyte of the Order of the Deep, known for her warmth, grace, and devotion to the Order's doctrines.
Brant: The Captain of the Troupe of Fools, a charismatic leader with a complex past. He is a Fusion character who wields a Sword.
Changli: Your long-awaited 5-star Fusion character Changli returns!

Weapons

The update will also include weapon banners featuring signature weapons for the characters.

Luminous Hymn - New!

A 5-Star Rectifier weapon belongs to Phoebe.

Unflickering Valor - New!

Brant’s signature weapon. It is a 5-Star Sword.

It is Changli's sword. A 5-star weapon.

A free 4-Star Rectifier will be available as an event reward.

Events

All limited-time events and new permanent gameplay modes will happen in the version 2.1 update of Wuthering Waves include:

Old Man and the Whale: A fishing event where you sail around, catching, storing, and selling various fish. You can improve your fishing skills and the Gondola's cargo capacity. Enhancing Phoebe and Rover's fishing abilities will grant additional bonuses.
Apex Ragunna: Co-Op Overdash: A co-op parkour event.
Beyond the Waves: A featured exploration event.
Infinite Battle Simulation II: A combat event.
Tactical Simulacra III: A combat event.
Gifts of Blue Water: A 7-day login event.
Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways: A new permanent gameplay mode with weekly resets where players enter different "gates" with challenges and buffs to accumulate "Illusive Points"124. Earning 5,000 points per gate can yield up to 160 weekly Astrites.
Whimpering Wastes: A permanent challenge mode where players use tokens to fight enemies across three sea areas.

Map

Rinascita map is expanded with 2 new areas:

Riccioli Islands - New!

Located north of Ragunna City, this area is home to fishermen and their Echo companions and has a strong connection to water. The Gondola Echo will be helpful for exploring this area.

Averardo Vault Underground Area - New!

A secret underground area in the Averardo Vault. Vault Underground, situated in the Rinascita region, is nestled under the Sea of Clouds. It serves as an expansive storage area for the Averardo Vault. Items transferred to the Vault are carefully relocated to their specific storage spots.

Story

In Version 2.1, Brant's Companion Story, "Sail Day, Captain," will be permanently available. Additionally, a new Exploration Quest titled "Silent as a Falling Leaf" will be added to the Averardo Vault underground area.
