The Majuli (Android) App virtually maps the broader Assamese culture including the mainstream Vaishnavite culture, Mising, Deori and other tribal life styles; the rich flora, fauna and heritage of Majuli for convenience of tourists with advanced features such as GPS enabled destination maps. It entails relevant information for tourists and act as a digital guide. The App is not only informative but also utility based as it categorically lists important service providers pertaining to the Tourism Industry and its allies such as Home Stays, Hotels, Lodges, Bamboo Cottages, Restaurants, Ethnic hand-loom, Food and Beverage Joints, Natural view points, Automobile Mechanics, Pharmacies for the convenience of tourists and uplifting the indigenous trading communities. It also furnishes a section on Administration providing information on important departments and access to submission of Public Grievances through the App. This section also includes the Sustainable Actions for Climate Resilient Development in Majuli (Registry). The App also has a Distress button for quick location based tracking of the user in times of need for a stronger rescue and relief mechanism. The App. is initiated by Sri. Pallav Gopal Jha, IAS., Deputy Commissioner, Majuli and inaugurated by hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam Sri. Sarbananda Sonowal.
