Radio GOA (HD)- “Goa On Air”

Radio GOA-Goa On Air, provides a media space enabling the progressive communities of Goa to voice ideas and build their power to create social change by broadcasting informative and empowering programming that can be used by the community to solve local problems. We view radio as an empowering ICT4D tool that will help foster self-reliance and development in the community through positive change. Our public affairs programming includes interviews with community movers and shakers: artists, activists, government officials, scientists and business leaders. Radio Goa is also about music from Goa, all kinds of music, connecting community members to one another, to the wider world and having fun while we are at it. You can be sure that whatever you hear will be spontaneous, fun and full of positive energy.

Indeed, our mission statement is to inform, educate, engage and entertain. People and community struggles are the daily menu of this fabulous and unique voice of joy and courage in Goa. Radio Goa is a teller of our stories: the ones that are born around kitchen tables, in workplaces, in taverns, school yards, in the garden, on a ferry and always in the face of discrimination, injustice, intransigence, greed and self- interest over the rights of others.

Thank you to all of the supporters and community organisations for your support in starting-up Radio GOA. A special thank you to all of the volunteers who donate their time, skills and knowledge. The station would not exist without you.
