About 사단법인 택견보존회

Leader training, competitions, seminars, awards evaluation

Taekkyeon is a traditional martial art that uses the technique of kicking or passing the opponent, centering on our unique original foot method called 'poom stepping', a flexible and rhythmic movement. Taekkyeon uses the technique of kicking or throwing opponents with his hands and feet based on his poom-brightness, that is, the flexible and sluggish footwork. What is distinctive is that, unlike the straight kick of Taekwondo, it uses a kick that generates strength through smooth, curved movements and a unique skipping technique similar to ssireum at the same time. In addition, unlike other martial arts at home and abroad, Taekkyeon has the ingenuity to attack and defend opponents with smooth curved movements in the natural movement of the limbs. In recognition of its historicity and uniqueness as the most Korean movement, it was registered as Korea's Important Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 76 in 1983 for the first time as a Korean martial art.
