Folklore is a regional legend story that developed in Indonesia which is maintained by the people and sometimes it is also believed to be true as a real event, but not infrequently some people consider it just a myth and fairy tale. Folklore that developed in Indonesia has its own characteristics in the form of legends of origin and names of places, lakes, mountains or other historical sites and objects.

There are lots of Indonesian folklore that are only passed on by word of mouth so that over time they will disappear. This is because it is rare for parents to tell. Even though folklore contains a lot of morals, lessons and wisdom that can shape a person's character.
