Anonymous is a network of international activists and hacktivists that are closely related. A website that is nominally associated with the group describes it as an "Internet meeting" with "a very loose and decentralized command structure operating on the basis of ideas and not directives". The group is known for a well-publicized series of publicity actions and spreading denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on government, religious, and corporate websites.
