Sobieszewo Island was shaped by two historical events. In 1840, Wisła interrupted the dunes at Górki and created the Śmiała Wisła. 1895 was the end of the great engineering project of the Vistula excavation at Świbno. On the 180th and 125th anniversary of these events, the City of Gdańsk and local activists are preparing a number of anniversary events. On the initiative of Wyspa Association, an application was created that collects all the most important information about the history and the present day of this unique district of Gdańsk.
