iSurit is developed and managed by Assyrian Language and Culture Trust.

iSurit is a language documentation app designed to document the various dialects of Surit and Ṣurayt.

Surit (the Eastern Dialects Cluster) and Ṣurayt (the Western Dialects Cluster) are recognised as a definitely endangered language and the purpose of this app is to document the language and preserve it, a way of fighting its endangerment.

The preservation of the language and reversing its endangerment is too big of a task for our linguists and academics and requires the active participation of the whole community.

Thus, this app was developed to help every individual to do their part in documenting their dialect and preserving it for future generations. Language is a pivotal pillar of our very existence and its is our duty, every single one of us, to do our part in preserving it.
