Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) was established on 1 July 1964 and is the only national classification body assigned by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to explain the Indonesian-flagged vessels.

Today, BKI has developed as an independent assurance that penetrated various business sectors covering 3 business sectors, namely Industry, Marine and Energy sectors.
As a classification berau and independent assurance, BKI always prioritizes and promotes high professionalism supported by experts from various fields, education and expertise and experience that can be trusted and supported by service network in 20 branches throughout Indonesia.
