CoinWords is a word puzzle game you can play with real coins using your phone's camera.

Do you know your coin collection really well? Now you can test your knowledge by playing an innovative word puzzle game which uses artificial intelligence to automatically recognise coins and match the letters in the coins’ descriptions with letters in the chosen word.

CoinWords app blends three worlds - coin collecting, automatic image recognition and word puzzle games. Use real coins to play word puzzle games. The more letters you match with each coin, the more points you get!

Rules:

- Choose a word in the Games section and press the Play button

- Take a photo of a coin whose description might contain a fragment of the word (one or more consecutive letters which appear in both the coin’s description and the chosen word)

- The app will automatically recognize the coin and will offer coin descriptions with matching letters highlighted

- Choose a coin description which matches the most letters and provides the largest score

- Confirm your choice by pressing the Confirm button

- Repeat the previous steps until all letters of the word are matched

- Sign in to compare your result with the Global TOP list of other users

Goal:

- The goal of the game is to match all letters of the word in a minimal number of steps

- The more letters that are matched in one step, the more points that are awarded

- For example, if you need to match letters in the word ABRACADABRA, you should think of coins in your collection whose descriptions might contain some fragments of that word. Probably Canadian coins will match CA, Brazilian coins will match letters BRA, and 1-cent coins from the United States, with description containing “Abraham Lincoln”, will match ABRA. Any coin description containing letter “a” will also match all five A letters in the given word.

Scoring:

- The number of points depend on the letters matched in each step

- For each separately-standing letter one point is awarded

- For each consecutive letter additional points are awarded, which correspond to the number of consecutive letters (two consecutive letters: 2x2=4 points; three consecutive letters: 3x3=9 points; etc.)

For example, in the word ABRACADABRA

- If letter C is matched, 1 point is awarded, since C repeats only once in ABRACADABRA

- If letter B is matched, 2 points are awarded, since B repeats twice in ABRACADABRA

- If letter A is matched, 5 points are awarded, since A repeats five times in ABRACADABRA

- If letters CA are matched, 2x2=4 points are awarded, since CA has two consecutive letters in ABRACADABRA

- If letters CAD are matched, 3x3=9 points are awarded, since CAD has three consecutive letters in ABRACADABRA

- If letters AB are matched, (2x2)+(2x2)=4+4=8 points are awarded, since AB has two consecutive letters and repeats twice in ABRACADABRA

- If letters ABRA are matched, (4x4)+(4x4)=16+16=32 points are awarded, since ABRA has four consecutive letters and repeats twice in ABRACADABRA
