This App "Find in Files" (FGrep) is an extra Add-On for the App DiffTool.

By using the code of this grep App, Diff Tool is able to find documents and files on your device containing the pieces of text you are looking for.

The following documents are supported:

DOC, XLS, PPT, RTF(latin1 only),

DOCX, XLSX, PPTX,

ODT, ODS, ODP.

The following plain text files are supported:

ASCII, ANSI, ISO-8859-1, Latin1, CP1252,

UNICODE (UTF-8/16/32 little and big endian).

And the text search will also work on many different binary file formats too, as long these files are not crypted or compressed.

After you have installed that App, run DiffTool and select the menu "extras / find in files" (see the second screenshot picture too).

FGrep can not find text on pictures.

The Diff Tool does not contain any document viewer.

But you can display the unformatted text of each file found without any pictures to check in which context the text is used. To display the real content of documents, please use other tools.

The purpose of this tool is just to list up the files containing the text you are looking for.

To run this Add-On, Difftool version 1.83 or later is needed.
