GLOBE - The Global Legislators Organisation

This App presents The Global Legislators Organisation (GLOBE International), an international organisation comprising parliamentarians from 80 countries committed to finding legislative solutions to the challenges posed by climate change and sustainable development, the GLOBE Climate Legislation Study, a large report depicting climate laws and policies in 66 countries, the World Summit of Legislators and a calendar of GLOBE's future events.

The App showcases the 4th edition of the GLOBE Climate Legislation Study, produced in partnership with the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics. The 700 page study, the world’s single most comprehensive audit of national climate change laws and regulations, reviews almost 500 pieces of legislation that have been passed in 66 countries since 1997.

GLOBE also publishes the GLOBE Natural Capital Legislation Study and the GLOBE Forest Legislation Study. These will be made available in a future release of the App.

The World Summit of Legislators convenes legislators from the world’s national parliaments every-two-years. The Summit has the simple aim of promoting national legislation on issues of sustainable development. It provides a unique international platform to recognise the role of legislators and the importance of passing national legislation if international processes are to deliver.

The 2nd World Summit of Legislators will take place in the Mexican Congress from 6th-8th June 2014. All the world parliaments are invited to partecipate.
