The Off-grid and Decentralized Solar PV Applications Programme as part of the National Solar Mission primarily focuses on providing energy access solutions in the rural and remote areas. Under Phase-III of programme, 3, 00,000 solar street lights are proposed to be installed throughout the country, with special emphasis on areas where there is no facility for street lighting systems through grid power.

The mobile application system along with the web portal would assist MNRE in the effective implementation of the programme by tracking the actual number of solar street lights installed across India in association with the state nodal agencies and the empanelled vendors.

Through this application, MNRE and the SNAs would be able to track their respective sanctions and view the milestones of the projects under implementation. The application will also assist MNRE in mapping the actual installations and reduce the reporting time line. The data captured by the system can also be analysed by MNRE for further decision making.
