NAFPO (www.nafpo.in) is a non-profit, multi-stakeholder platform that works on creating an enabling ecosystem for Farmer Producers Organizations (FPOs) and aims at making them resilient for farmer prosperity. It works both for institutional development and promotion as well as business stabilization and growth of the FPOs. The objective is to bring to attention the immense opportunity that FPOs present to transform agriculture in India through an inclusive institution that truly represents farmers, especially small and marginal cultivators. NAFPO intends to coordinate and integrate efforts at the level of meso action in mainstreaming farmer institutions and support in strengthening individual FPOs. It works on building a support eco-system addressing challenges related to financing, human resource, and market linkages. NAFPO has emerged as the voice of FPOs and has built significant momentum towards pivoting the FPO movement at a national level. The key promoters and supporters of the NAFPO idea represent well-known names who bring decades of hands-on experience and knowledge to bear on this task. NAFPO has a network of 70+ stakeholders including 1000+ FPOs, 8+ State federations of FPOs, and several Resource Institutions/CSOs/NGOs across India. It only seeks to play a facilitating role and is not engaged in any commercial activity with or on behalf of FPOs.
