Poochh-O Carpool App from Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System Ltd. (DIMTS) brings people together on a platform where car owners and riders can share their commuting schedules & preferences, and find carpool members looking for similar commuting schedules & preferences.

The Poochh-O Carpool App has the following key principles:

i. Provide an easy to use interfaces to capture and share information for the purpose of forming a carpool.

ii. Ensure that important identification credentials of each member are collected at the time of registration including social media identity and Government issued documents.

iii. Allows communication between users without exposing their mobile numbers or Government identification documents.

iv. Clearly articulate that the users of the App are responsible for eventually choosing their partners and that the App is only a platform to bring potential carpoolers together.

v. Advises users not to carpool with strangers and choose known people from your neighbourhood / office etc. for the carpool.

FEATURES

The Poochh-O Carpool App has the following features:

A) User and Vehicle Registration

• Mobile no. verification using OTP

• Capturing detailed personal profile, including Govt. approved documents and verification using Facebook or LinkedIn social profiles

• (Optionally) Allow users to provide their personal interest subjects so as to enable like-minded people to join together

• Capturing Vehicle details, including self-declaration by the car owner about having all valid documents pertaining to the vehicle

B) Capturing Journey Details

• Details about the travel schedule – Origin, Destination and Timings

• Preferences of opting for carpool members based on gender (for security reasons)

C) Recommendation Engine

• Provides a list of potential carpooling partners from its database based on the journey details & preferences provided by the users. This engine analyzes the members (Car owners/Only Riders/Both) available in the zones near the Origin and Destination, and willing to travel around the same time as the car owner.

• Provides ability for creating an odd-even numbered vehicle pairing of regular travelers

• Matches the available users based on the gender preference

• Provides recommendation to a regular carpool rider to also connect with other car owners for a one-time journey to any other location.

• Allows the user to connect with recommended carpooling members available in the list using an in-built messaging interface to be able to select the best match and finalize the carpool member selection.

• View the communications done with the various users using My Messages interface.

D) Creating Carpools

• Create and Manage carpools that allows a maximum of four people in a vehicle

• Only the Car owners can create a carpool and administer it

E) Miscellaneous Features

• Update and manage your Personal Profile, Vehicle details, Journey details & Schedule details at any point in time

• Triggering SOS Broadcast to pre-defined numbers in case of any untoward incident using the TellTail App developed by DIMTS and available as a separate App. An interface is provided for the Poochh-O Carpool App to download the TellTail App.
