Sami Yusuf was born in Tabriz, an Azeri family in Iran. Grown up in a family of musicians, Yusuf moved to the UK when he was 3 years old. His music teacher was his father, Babak Radmanesh, who was a composer and musician from a young age. In 2003, he released the album Al Muallim. In 2011, he was elected among the United Nations Famous Volunteer Partners and took part in aid campaigns on behalf of the World Food Program (WFP). In July 2009, he received an honorary honorary award from Roehampton University.
