Coffee-Talks is a Chat-App, a Flirt-App, an application to exchange text messages with other Coffee-Talks users. Coffee-Talks uses open Wi-Fi networks and Wi-Fi networks with known user credentials.

Coffee-Talks is intended to easily strike up a conversation for example at a caffee in between.

Coffee-Talks is not an application that shares its data with a central system. Every smartphone which runs Coffee-Talks is its own system that stores chat data. Only Wi-Fi networks are used to connect to other users.

For that reason the chat- or flirt partners are always near you - that means within reach of the Wi-Fi network that you are currently using. If you can not see your chat partner she or he is most likely in another room or so.

This app lives with its users that use it. A single person can do less or probably nothing with it. Because it is a chat app a counterpart is needed.

Try it with your friends in your Wi-Fi network at home. Or setup your smartphone as portable Wi-Fi hotspot so that others can connect with it and start to chat.

Do not give me a bad rating if an error occurs or the applications crashes. Other people are kept off from downloading and using Coffee-Talks. That means possible flirt- or chat-partners will not use this app. At best give this app 5 stars. :-)

However if the application crashes please send the crash report. That way I can solve the errors very quick with an update.

My experiences with open Wi-Fi networks

Some networks are stable and can be used for hours without interruption. Others are very unstable and working with them is not very funny. It is possible that this behaviour is up to my mobile phone (HTC Desire from 2010). Sometimes it is not possible to connect to a Wi-Fi network although I used the same one some days previously without problems. In such cases it helps to remove the connection with the tab Wi-Fi-Overview, Menu, Known Wi-Fi Networks and removing the one that causes the problems and start a new connection by clicking the network again in the Wi-Fi Overview tab.

Of course I try to improve the application with the next updates.

Possible issues

- GPS can not be activated on all devices by this app. You will get a hint if this is the case. Then use the system settings to activate GPS manually.

- During the usage of GPS the consumption of electricity is very high. In one of the following updates I will reduce it.

- In addition private messages from user to user are currently not possible. The messages are always seen by all users.

Presumably there are many other things that I could do better. Drop me a mail. If I have free time I'll implement and provide it with one of the following updates.

Consumption of electricity and memory

Coffee-Talks doesn't use huge images and is designed to be compact to use as less resources as possible.

However in the settings you can activate GPS to determine your precise location. That serves to be able to roughly display the location of a Wi-Fi network that may be accessed. If GPS stays active the current consumption may be very high. For this reason GPS is disabled after 10 minutes.
