Etlingera ( Etlíngera ) is a genus of perennial plants of the Ginger family. Distributed in the Indo-Pacific region it contains about one hundred species which grow mainly in the equator area. The genus is named after the German botanist Andreas Ernst Etlinger (1730-1790).

Some of the major representatives of the species have a powerful on leafy shoots up to 10 meters and the external appearance resemble woody plants.
