A drop Water is a small volume of fluid bounded by a surface determined primarily by the action of surface tension forces rather than external forces.

This dependence is the basis of the methods for determining the surface tension of liquids by the mass of droplets that breaks away from the vertical cylindrical tube and by the shape of the drop hanging at the end of the tube.
