The Berg balance scale has been widely used to assess balance in the elderly. It aims to evaluate the balance, coordination and agility of the elderly undergoing physical exercises, such as reaching, turning, transferring, standing and getting up.

The Berg Balance scale has a maximum score of 56 points that can be achieved through each item ranging from 0 to 4 points. The test is simple, easy to administer, and safe for the evaluation of elderly patients.
