View recent emergency incidents in Portland, Oregon on a map with a traffic layer. The data is from Portland's Bureau of Emergency Communications.
The incidents are color-coded by the app developer's opinion by severity/impact into five categories:
- Red: Severe
- Orange: Serious
- Yellow: Significant
- Blue: Minimal
- Purple: An unknown incident type, but will be classified server-side to the app as soon as possible, with no app update needed.
Tap a marker to get details about any single incident: what type of incident it is, including time and date of occurrence, when the incident was last updated, and the Portland Police Department Case Number.
This app's server pulls the incident data every minute, but there is a short lag associated with when the incident occurred and when the incident was picked up by the Bureau.
This app reports the latest 100 incidents reported by the Bureau, which typically correlates to a data look-back time of three to six hours.
The app links to an Incident Count page that tells you how many of the latest 100 incidents were from each of the above categories, as well as a focus on serious weapons-related incident counts and locations.
You can change the map to one of the four views: normal, satellite, hybrid, or terrain view and the app will remember the selection until you change it again.
