Al-Bidayah wan Nihayah or Tarih Ibn Kathir is a history book compiled by Al-Hafizh Ibn Kathir (w 774 H). The discussion of this book begins with the creation of the universe, the heavens and the earth, the angels, the first humans, then the stories of the prophets and the past to the last prophet, then the figures, dynasties (khilafah/daula) and events that occurred in the 19th century. The centuries that have passed in the Islamic period to the time of the author, then followed by events that will occur at the end of time such as signs of the coming of the apocalypse, the journey in the barzakh realm, resurrection to the afterlife, Heaven and Hell whose stories are based on the hadith of the prophet. The whole story is well told through the Qur'an and also the Hadith of the Prophet.
