Citi 97.3 FM is one of Ghana’s most influential private radio stations operating from the heart of the national capital, Accra.

The station commenced commercial transmission on the 5th of November 2004 as a mixed format radio station (Music, News and Talk) and broadcasts mainly in the English language.

Located in the middle of Accra’s traditional suburb of Adabraka (some 1,500 meters from the main commercial centre), Citi FM has since its incorporation carved a niche for itself as a top notch provider of Business Programmes, up to the minute Political and Current Affairs Programmes and a strong force in the organization of Corporate, Social and Entertainment events.

The station boasts of a team of very young, dedicated and passionate staff whose inexplicable appetite for success has driven it to become one of the best in the sub region within its short period of existence.

Citi FM’s firm belief in its values of Creativity, Resilience, Extreme Passion, Daring and Optimism has seen it chalk such successes as being adjudged the New Radio Station of the year (2006) at the BBC Africa Radio Awards for West Africa.

The Citi Breakfast Show was also adjudged Africa’s Best Interactive Talk Show for the year 2006 at the BBC Africa Radio Awards for Africa.

In 2010, the Ghana Journalists Association, recognizing the station’s contribution towards democracy and peace building in the country honoured Citi FM with a special award for “The best coverage on democracy and peace building.”

97.3 Citi fm has won two prestigious international awards of excellence from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
