Forest Akers Golf Courses are recognized as two of the best public golf courses in the state of Michigan and home to the Big Ten champion Michigan State University Mens and Womens Golf Teams. The Forest Akers Golf Center is mid-Michigan's premier practice facility. The 20 acre practice area opened in 1997 and is consistently rated in the TOP 50 practice facilities in the country. The Forest Akers Golf Center has a staff of PGA teaching professionals associated with the full service Spartan Golf Academy.
