Paathshala Penemuan Digital Baru (NDDP)

Newgen Digital Discovery Paathshala (NDDP) is the flagship CSR initiative of Newgen Software. NDDP focuses on promoting quality and equitable digital learning among government school students. The initiative is designed to impart knowledge using web-based technology and transform traditional classroom teachings into fun learning sessions.

NDDP footprints are spread across three schools in the Delhi region - Government Girls Senior Secondary Schools in Harkesh Nagar and Tekhand, and Soami Nagar Model School, a trust-managed school. Presently, the program caters to students of classes 7th to 12th.

During COVID-19, NDDP transitioned from classroom mode to online sessions. This acted as a catalyst for the digital empowerment of students. NDDP has provided digital devices—including iPads, smartphones, and tablets—to the students, ensuring uninterrupted access to education. NDDP online has an expanding family of 500+ students who routinely attend virtual sessions and actively participate in various events and activities.

The facilitators make the sessions interactive through audio-visual teaching methods, engaging group discussions, quizzes, activities, and assignments. The active participation of students is always encouraged through the regular distribution of gifts, happiness boxes, and appreciation prizes.

NDDP supports the students in enhancing their mental health through its partnership with I-AM (a psychological support organization). Through this collaboration, NDDP provides soft-skill training, personal counseling, and self-awareness sessions to the students. These sessions have been especially beneficial to the students during the pandemic as they faced difficulties in embracing change.

The goal of the program is to make students digitally sound and broaden their perspectives so that they can keep up with the pace of global digitization.

Vision:

The vision of the program is to actively contribute to the holistic development of underprivileged children by making education accessible. Making them digitally empowered is a key focus and the efforts are concentrated around that. The broader idea is to raise the human development index in India by focusing on children’s education and quality of life.
