bURLy helps protect your privacy, battery, and data plan by giving you more control over web links in apps. bURLy is a supercharged replacement for the standard browser chooser.

✓ bURLy unshortens short URLs (e.g. goo.gl, bit.ly), redirects, and other tricks people use to hide links. No more do you open a short URL in Chrome only to find out it was a Youtube video all along.

✓ bURLy discovers what kind of file the link points to, so you can open images directly in the Gallery, or download documents, without opening a web browser.

✓ Instead of Android's simplistic Just once/Always buttons, create rules based on URLs, file types, or apps. It's only a few clicks: easier than making a file association in Windows, or filtering email in Gmail.

✓ Protect your security & privacy, and stop spies: bURLy can automatically detect when websites support SSL and use it, even if the original link wasn't HTTPS.

✓ Maybe you have two browsers installed, but some sites only work in Firefox, and others only work in Chrome: now you can create rules to open the right browser for each site automatically!

✓ You can even completely block links to a given website or app. If an app always sends you to a spam site, just make a rule to "do nothing" for links to "spamsite.com".

✓ With bURLy's unique "manual override" button, you can turn off rules for a single occasion. Say you usually open images in the Gallery, but this one time you want to use Chrome, or you want to add a more specific rule for a particular site. Hit "manual override" and click the link (from any app) to bring up the chooser again.

bURLy needs some permissions in order to work:-

INTERNET to investigate links before opening them. bURLy doesn't store or share with Shadowburst or third parties what links you click or what apps you use.

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE to offer a "Wi-Fi only" option

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE so you can download files to the "Downloads" folder

NFC so scanning a tag can examine its URL with bURLy, and even open it with apps that don't support NFC

• Set individual rules to only work on Wi-Fi or mobile data, so you can e.g. open YouTube links only on Wi-Fi
