The Regional Hospital Limbe was created in the 1940s; it has a capacity of 200 hospitalization beds of which 10 are private rooms. This facility is different from what it use to be some years back. These changes can be seen in the domain of infrastructure, equipment and personnel.

In the domain of personnel we have a total of 242 active staff of which 167 are state employed. Out of these staff are 33 Medical Doctors of which 25 are Specialists as follows (Ineternist1, Diabetologist 1, Surgeons 5, (Urologist1, General Surgeon3, Orthopedic surgeon 1); Cardiologist 2, Pharmacist 3, Radiologist 3, Anaesthetist Doctor 1, ENT (ORL) 2, Medical Biologist 1, Ophthalmologist 1, Pneumologist 1, Dental Surgeon 2, Pediatrician1, Gynecologist 2 and General Practitioners 8 + 4practicing GPs.

In the area of equipment: We are blessed with equipment for 2 new operating theatres and intensive care unit, equipment for the Imaging Centre where we can do CT Scans, Mammography, Dental Tomography, Ultrasounds and X-rays; other equipment for Neonatology, Private Wards, Medicalised Ambulance, standby generator of 170KWA yet to be installed, just to mention a few.

In the domain of infrastructure and services offered reason for our being here today:

We have 17 buildings distributed to various services as follows: The administrative block harboring (Administrative Offices, Pediatric training centre of excellence, dentistry, Neonatology, BEPHA Health Insurance office and the Canteen); Imaging centre block; Theatre and ICU; Diabetes and Hypertension clinic; Maternity, doctors call residence, Medical students rest house or domitory, kitchen and demonstration unit; Tuberculosis unit; Maintenance / Hygiene and Sanitation unit; Surgical wards; Medical wards; Pediatric ward; Eye department; Security posts, Mortuary department; the Outpatient department-OPD with ANC/IWC upstairs.
