Over 2500 students go on exchange from Australia and New Zealand each year. They spend up to 12 months living and studying in another culture.

Student Exchange Australia New Zealand Ltd sends to over 20 destinations worldwide. Students can choose from a few weeks with a school group, through to experiences of between 2 and 10 months.

What do students gain from going on exchange?

There are so many different programs and countries for teens to explore and experience. It is easy to find a program that meets their needs and fit in with plans for school and further study. There are also opportunities to host an overseas exchange student in their homes as a volunteer host family.

Why is it something that needs to be done as a teen?

Being an exchange student can be a life changing experience. It is a good way for teens to move outside their comfort zones and learn about the world and themselves.

A student exchange program complements a student’s formal education in important and exciting ways.

Imagine living overseas for anything from two to twelve months. Students will be placed with a host family and attend a local school. They’ll live like a local and become immersed in the culture. They'll learn the language and gain valuable international experience. They will learn a lot about themselves.

Being an exchange student is a challenging, rewarding and fun experience. Teens are not a tourist or a guest. They are actually living in their host country as a member of that community.
