The following is told from the book manaqib Al Arif Billah Al Qutb Al Allamah Al Musnid AL Hafidz Habib Ali Al Habsyi about writing this noble book.

When age Habib ‘Ali stepped on 68 years, he wrote the book of maulid which he gave the name Simtud Durar.

On Thursday 26 Shafar 1327 H, Habib ‘All dictates the initial paragraph of Maulid Simtud Durar after starting with the basmalah reading:

He then ordered that the text be read to him. After the introduction in the form of the sermon was read, he said, "God willing, I will immediately perfect it. I have long wanted to compose a maulid story. Until one day my son Muhammad came to see me with a pen and paper, then said to me, "start now." I then started it. "

On Tuesday, at the beginning of Rabi'ul Awwal 1327 AH, he ordered that the birthday he had written be read. He opened it with the great Fatihah. Then on the night of Wednesday, 9 Rabi'ul Awwal, he began to read his maulid in his home after the birthday was perfected. He said, "This birthday is very touching, because it has just been created."

On Thursday, 10 Rabi'ul Awwal he perfected it again. On the night of Saturday, 12 Rabi'ul Awwal 1327 AH, he read the maulid in the house of his student, Sayyid ar Umar bin Hamid as-Saggaf. From that day Habib ‘Ali then read his own maulid: Simtud Durar. Previously he always read maulid ad-Diba'i.

This great Maulid Simtud Durar then began to spread widely in Seiwun, also throughout Hadhramaut and other distant places. This Mawlid also reaches the glorious Haramain, Indonesia, Africa, Dhafar and Yemen. It was stated that the maulid Simtud Durar was first read at Habib ‘Ali's house, then at the home of his student, Habib‘ Umar bin Hamid. His companions then asked Habib ‘Ali to read the maulid in their homes. He said to them, "During this month, every day I will read the Maulid Simtud Durar in your house alternately.

27 Sya'ban 1327 H, Sayyid Hamid bin ‘Alwi Al-Bar will go to Madinah Al-Munawwarah carrying a maulid Simtud Durar manuscript which he will read before the Prophet sallallaahu‘ alaihi wa sallam. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam will feel very happy.
