Aura is an attempt to challenge popular stereotypes and media representations about the lives, dreams and hopes of women, especially those from marginalized communities. The magazine is being launched in a testing time, where multiple contexts of political repression, the pandemic, and continuous forms of societal injustice prevail. Our first issue takes up the question of leadership and success, and what this means to women.

Leadership and success has been painted with a very superficial and individualistic brush by media. Instead, we wish to turn the question on its head and ask what it means to lead, to challenge oneself, and to succeed. The magazine is to be viewed as a launch-pad for women to blossom naturally as leaders.

As the saying goes, the human mind, like a parachute, works best when opened. This humble initiative is to set the minds free, allowing them to experience and create a world of beauty in words.The enthusiastic write-ups of our writers are indubitably sufficient to hold the interest and admiration of the readers. This is indeed a pious attempt to make our talents give shape to their leadership because we believe that success depends upon our power to perceive, the power to observe and the power to explore. We are sure that the positive attitude, hard work, sustained efforts and innovative ideas exhibited by our writers will surely stir the minds of the readers and take them to the surreal world of unalloyed joy and pleasure. We have put in relentless efforts to bring excellence to this treasure trove.We recognize, appreciate, applaud and foster the fine blend of sensibilities in our writers, changing a negative outlook from drab and demoralized to bright and expectant. The magazine also espouses the team spirit which is built up within, through the collective actions, thoughts and aspirations. Finally, the magazine’s core is reflective of the title itself. Each woman has a unique aura, experience and sense of self, which needs a place to flourish.
