Capone will rise to control most of the illicit activities of gambling, prostitution, and bootlegging zoals in Chicago, Illinois in the early twentieth century.

2. Frank Costello is another influential gangster. He was born in Italy but moved to America when he was four years old. 3. Carlo Gambino is an influential gangster in America. From 1961 until he died in 1976, he was the head of the American mafia. Gambino was born in Palermo, Sicily, but moved to the United States at the age of 21. Through the relatives of Castellano, he joined the family Masseria. While Lucky Luciano is an underboss in the Family Masseria, Gambino works for him. After Luciano has Masseria dead, Luciano becomes boss, and Gambino is sent to Scalise family.
