Kenal pasti parasit kambing dan kambing yang biasa berlaku di Australia
Sheep Parasites enables users (veterinary students, practitioners, parasitologists and potentially farmers) to identify both endo-and ecto-parasites of sheep and goats that commonly occur in Australia and around the world. This key includes a comprehensive guide to morphological identification of at least 74 parasite genera/species including nematodes, trematodes, cestodes, protozoa, ticks, mites, lice and flies. Furthermore, a brief pointwise description of each parasite and associated disease together with photographs is provided in the App.
At the heart of Sheep Parasites are several Lucid identification keys which help users to quickly and accurately identify parasite genera/species. The users are required to identify the host (i.e. sheep or goat) and parasite category (e.g. nematode/roundworm, trematode/flatworm) they want to identify and enter morphological characteristics of the parasite. The key then shortlists those parasite genera/species harbouring the characteristics entered, eliminating those that do not match the identification criteria entered. A stepwise entry of additional characteristics can narrow down the search to one or few parasite genera/species. For users who want information about the parasite (identified) and associated disease, Sheep Parasites provides fact sheets containing descriptions and photographs that briefly describe various aspects of the parasite/disease including predilection site, morphology, pathology, clinical signs, diagnosis and epidemiology.
