★ வைணவப் பக்தி நூல்களின் தொகுப்பான நாலாயிரத் திவ்வியப் பிரபந்தத்தின் 473 தொடக்கம் 503 வரையுள்ள பாடல்கள் திருப்பாவைப் பாடல்கள் ஆகும்.

★ தமிழ் நாட்டில் மார்கழி மாதத்தில் கன்னிப் பெண்கள் பாவை நோன்பு நோற்றனர். இதன் போது விடியு முன்பே எழும் கன்னியர் பிற பெண்களையும் துயில் எழுப்பிக்கொண்டு ஆற்றில் நீராடி இறைவனைத் துதித்து வழிபடுவர். இதனைப் பின்னணியாகக் கொண்டு எழுந்ததே இந்நூல்.

★ இதனால் தற்காலத்திலும் பாவை நோன்புக் காலத்தில் இப்பாடல்கள் பாடப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.

★ பாடல்கள் அனைத்தும் இறைவனின் பெருமைகளைக் கூறிக் கன்னியரைத் துயில் எழுப்பும் பாங்கில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.

★ தாய்லாந்தில் திருப்பாவை, திருவெம்பாவை மன்னர் முடிசூட்டலில் பாடப்படுகிறது.

★ மார்கழி மாதத்தில் அனைத்து பெருமாள் கோயில்களிலும் சுப்ரபாதத்துக்கு பதில் திருப்பாவை பாடப்படுகிறது.

★ The Thiruppavai (Tamil:திருப்பாவை) is a collection of thirty stanzas (paasurams) written in Tamil by Andal (also known as Nachiyar), in praise of the Lord Perumal, (Vishnu).

★ It is part of Divya Prabandha, a work of the twelve Alvars, and is important part of Tamil literature.

★ Kodhai Devi or Goda Devi/Andal incarnated on earth in the 98th year after the beginning of the Kali Era.

★ She performed a wonderful vratham or vow called Dhanurmasa vratham to tell us that, by practicing this vratham, one can attain all materialistic happiness along with the eternal bliss.

★ Tiruppavai teaches us to feel emotion while praying to the Lord. It enables us to perceive the Prakriti, Paramatma and Jeevas merging with each other by Para Bhakthi
