Centrifugal Pumps -Water- is a quick solution for water pumps sizing. Quickly perform required head, NPSHa, pipe sizing, hydraulic power and friction losses calculations.

Calculations consider stainless steel pipes of usual commercial diameters and schedules.

Features included:

• English and Portuguese languages

• Calculations in two different systems of units – Metric and English (Imperial) – with most usual units for piping calculations

• Atmospheric or pressurized suction and discharge lines

• Changing any of the process variables input all the resulting dependent variables are promptly actualized

• Typical flow velocity and recommended pipe diameter for both suction and discharge lines

• Internal diameter of the common commercial steel pipes for different schedules (thickness)

• Calculations of distributed and localized (valves and fittings) head

• Available NPSH considering suction level, friction losses, temperature and local altitude

• Approximate required pump performance with water

Friction factor is calculated using the Colebrook-White formulae:

1/√f=-2*log((ε/D)/3.72+2.51/(Re*√f))

For laminar flow (Re<2000):

f=64/Re

Distributed head losses:

hld=f*L/D*v^2/(2*g)

Where:

f – friction factor

ε – rugosity of the pipe wall

s – pipe internal diameter

Re – Reynolds number

L – length of straight piping
