About the flags of some countries and the reason for their design

The national flag of Spain (Spanish: Bandera de España),

As defined in the 1978 constitution, it consists of three horizontal stripes: red, yellow, and red, and the yellow stripe is twice the size of each red stripe. Traditionally, the middle band was defined by the old term gualda, hence the common name la Rojigualda (red-weld).

The origin of the current flag of Spain

It is the naval ensign of 1785, Pabellón de la Marina de Guerra during the reign of Charles III of Spain. It was chosen by Charles III himself from among 12 different flags designed by Antonio Valdes y Bazan (all suggested flags are presented in a drawing housed in the Maritime Museum of Madrid). The flag remained anchored on the seas for much of the next 50 years, flying over coastal castles, naval barracks, and other naval possessions. During the Peninsular War, the flag can also be found on the naval regiments fighting inland. The first Spanish land unit (the La Princesa Regiment) was not supplied until 1820, and the flag was not officially assigned until 1843 when Queen Isabella II of Spain made the flag official.

Throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the color scheme of the flag remained the same, with the exception of the period of the Second Republic (1931-1939); The only changes were centered on the coat of arms.

Australian national flag

It is the national flag of Australia, as defined in the Flags Act 1953, which also specified the flag to be used by the Merchant Navy as the Australian Red Banner. There are also a number of other official flags, including two representing their indigenous peoples and others used for various functions. There has been debate about changing the design of the national flag since the late 20th century.

The design of the Australian national flag is based on the blue British flag - a blue field with Union Jack in the upper hoist quarter - enhanced by a large white seven-pointed star (the Commonwealth Star) and the representation of the Southern Cross constellation, made up of five white stars (one small five-pointed star and four, the largest, seven stars). Its original design (with a six-pointed Commonwealth star) was selected in 1901 from entries in a post-union competition, and was first flown in Melbourne on 3 September 1901, the date declared in 1996 as the Australian National Flag Day. A slightly different design was approved by King Edward VII in 1903. The current Commonwealth Star's seven-point version was introduced with a proclamation
