Poultry Disease Lite is a free mobile app designed specifically for poultry farmers (particularly small-scale producers) to provide vital information about poultry diseases and conditions which is essential in disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

Diseases are the primary contributor to the year-on-year economic losses recorded in many poultry farms worldwide. This is especially evident in many developing countries where technical support and extension services are often inadequate or unavailable. This unfortunately leaves many small and often inexperienced farmers/producers to unsuccessfully tackle very complex and challenging animal health problems on their own. In many cases, these poultry farmers are put out of business by preventable disease outbreak.

This app aims to address this problem by providing farmers or producers with a comprehensive compilation of poultry diseases and conditions (over 100 items) with each disease described in easy-to-understand language. Vital information such as the type and cause of the disease, the type and age of birds affected, disease distribution, infection rate, mortality rate, clinical signs or symptoms of disease etc is provided for every disease described in the app.

Poultry Disease Lite is the free version of the Poultry Disease App (a paid app). Features such as disease diagnosis, detailed symptom description with photos, disease treatment and prevention steps, standard biosecurity practices and disease database search are not available in this version.
