Pelican

Communicate with your family and friends, schedule activities, events and tasks.

Pelican is an application that integrates everything we need in our daily lives, for personal or shared use, with family or groups of friends. We focus on what really matters, being practical and looking for a real help to our users.

Pelican has been conceived on the principle of "your data is only yours", so Pelican does not store or use, in any form, your own data (messages, photos, files...).

Pelican includes a traditional messaging service, allowing the differentiation of person-to-person dialogues from group dialogues, in order to better sort the screens and find more easily who we want to dialogue with.

Pelican is designed to help you in your daily life, for personal organisation, by integrating appointments, activities, events, tasks and reminders into an agenda. These items are presented in an orderly fashion as an agenda or as a calendar, clearly indicating their status to me. I can also synchronise these items with the calendar on my mobile phone or PC/Mac.

Pelican allows all these elements to be shared, whether I inform other people, invite them to participate or even assign them to be responsible for that action (they must accept it). This is very useful in family organisation: for example, I have made an appointment with my daughter's teacher, and I inform my husband that he must also participate. For this, it is enough to indicate that my husband is a participant in this activity, and Pelican will send him a complete card, in his diary, with an invitation to participate. But it is not necessary to have the entire calendar shared.

I can also share and invite to an event, a birthday party, a football match, where I invite friends. Each person invited will receive a card with the details of the event, and the invitation to participate. Pelican automatically registers who has confirmed their attendance.

Pelican offers a display in the form of cards, one for each element created, be it activities, events, tasks, reminders, as well as the dialogue groups themselves. All integrated and tidy.

All Pelican elements have the same structure, in 4 parts: a dialogue space (messaging) private to that element, a data space, a list of participants and a bulletin board.

That way, when we want to dialogue about a specific element (for example, the appointment with the teacher), we can do it within that element itself, without mixing all the dialogues on other topics within the same group. It is much clearer and tidier, to follow the thread of each dialogue without losing details.

The billboard of each element allows you to order the documentation, especially the photos, which are specific to each element or event, avoiding the messy mix of photos within a group. For each element, Pelican allows you to create an album, organised in folders, where participants can add comments, in order to preserve a collective memory of the event, which is automatically shared among participants.

To facilitate the grouping of items, of any type, Pelican allows you to create Topics, and associate one or more topics to each item or group, and then access them by topic. It is very useful then to check all the items, appointments or tasks that I have pending (or that I have done in the past) for example with the topic "Medical", so Pelican will show me the ordered list of items planned for that topic. In each "appointment" item, I can have documented results of the medical appointment, easily getting the historical thread of that subject.

Pelican allows you to have several user profiles, each profile has its own profile picture, its data and a billboard of my photos or documents.
