Dnyaneshwar, also known as Dnyandev or Mauli (1275–1296) was a 13th-century Marathi saint, poet, philosopher and yogi of the Nath tradition whose Dnyaneshwari (a commentary on the Bhagavad Gita) and Amrutanubhav are considered to be milestones in Marathi literature.

Dnyaneshwari (Marathi: ज्ञानेश्वरी) is a commentary on the Bhagavad Gita written by the Marathi saint and poet Dnyaneshwar in the 13th century. This commentary has been praised for its aesthetic as well as scholarly value. The original name of the work is Bhavarth Deepika, which can be roughly translated as "The light showing the internal meaning" (of the Bhagvad Geeta), but it is popularly called the Dnyaneshwari after its creator. Saint Dyaneshwar wrote the Dyaneshwari in Nevasa beside a pole which is still there.

शा.श. १२१२, अर्थात इ.स. १२९०, साली प्रवरातीरी असणाऱ्या नेवासे या गावातील मंदिरात एक खांबाला टेकून भगवद्गीतेवर ज्ञानेश्वरांनी जे भाष्य केले त्यालाच ज्ञानेश्वरी किंवा भावार्थदीपिका म्हटले जाते. ज्ञानेश्वरीत एकूण १८ अध्याय आहेत.

सर्वसामान्यांसाठी असणारा गीतेवरील ज्ञानेश्वरांचा हा टीकाग्रंथ मराठीतील सर्वश्रेष्ठ ग्रंथ आहे. मराठीतील गोडवा अन्य भाषिकांना कळावा या उद्देशाने संस्कृत(गीर्वाण), हिंदी भाषा, कन्नड, तमिळ, इंग्रजीबरोबरच २१ निरनिराळ्या भाषांमध्ये ज्ञानेश्वरी भाषांतरित झाली असून ते भाषांतरित छापील ग्रंथ उपलब्ध आहेत.
