One of the biggest parishes of the Archdiocese of Verapoly,St.Raphael's Church,Thykoodam was established in 1844.On June 2,1872,during the pontificate of Pope Pius IX,it was elevated to the status of a Parish Church.This Church was renovated in 1970.
