Salmo 4

Great Psalm

1 Answer me when I call, O God who gives me justice! Give me relief from my anguish; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

2 How long will you, O mighty ones, insult my honor? How long will you be loving illusions and looking for lies?

3 Know that the Lord has chosen the godly; the Lord will hear when I call on him.

4 When you become angry, do not sin; when lying down, reflect on it and be still.

5 Offer sacrifices as God requires and trust in the Lord.

6 Many ask, “Who will make us enjoy good?” Make the light of your countenance shine upon us, O Lord!

7 You have filled my heart with joy, greater joy than that of those who are full of wheat and wine.

8 In peace I lie down, and then I sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me live in safety.
