Shop Act License is an important license for carrying a business or carrying a commercial establishment in local area and without obtaining this license no one carry a business activity in that local area. This license will be issue by the Municipal corporation board of that area where a person wants to establish a commercial establishment.

Gumasta License is similar to shop act license and it is a compulsory license for those establishment where 10 or more employees are working and if 9 or less people are working for an establishment then owner has to submit an acknowledgement form to the Municipal Corporation. Without Gumasta license you may not allowed to start a commercial establishment.

1. What is Shop Act License?

Any citizen who wishes to open new shop or a commercial establishment wants to commence its business within the jurisdiction of Government of Maharashtra, has to register itself under The Bombay Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, 1948.

This license will be issue by the Municipal corporation board of that area where a person wants to establish a commercial establishment.
