The number of solutions of the equation depends on the discriminant:

- If Δ> 0, the equation has two real solutions denoted x1 and x2.

       -> x1 = (-b - √Δ) / (2a)

       -> x2 = (-b + √Δ) / (2a)

- If Δ = 0, then the equation has a double real solution denoted x0.

       -> x0 = -b / (2a)

- If Δ <0, then the equation admits no real solution.
