About Sports Biology

An app to track and analyze athletes' biological responses to exercise.

Sports Biology App - your personal interface to science

Welcome to the official app of the Chair of Sports Biology at the University of the

Bundeswehr Munich! This app serves as a central interface between the research activities

of the chair and the subjects participating in our scientific studies. It is a specialized app

designed to monitor and analyze athletes’ biological responses to physical exertion.

Our goal: To make science transparent and accessible for you.

The app enables participants to log and track various physiological parameters, exercise

performance, and recovery metrics. By integrating this data, Sports Biology contributes to a

deeper understanding of how the body reacts to different training stimuli, aiding researchers

in optimizing performance and recovery strategies

Your personal research data - always and everywhere available

The Sports Biology app provides you with a complete overview of all the data collected

during your previous studies at the chair - available at any time and securely stored. After

logging in with a personal, anonymous ID and password, all data collected as part of your

participation in studies conducted by the Chair of Sports Biology is easily available to you.

Currently optimized for the Female Health Study

The app is currently being used as part of the Female Health Study and is aimed at all

female participants. The aim of this study is to gain new insights into the influence of physical

health, performance, nutrition and hormone intake on bone health. With the app, you as a

participant have direct access to your study results and benefit from transparent and modern

communication with the research team.

The Female Health project is officially registered as a scientific research study at

https://register.clinicaltrials.gov/ and can be found under the ID: NCT06608862.

The available data include, among other things:

 Bone quality: T-score, Z-score and SOS values obtained by ultrasound. A fracture risk

can be derived from this.

 Body composition: Analysis of your muscle and fat mass, information on daily calorie

turnover and the body's water balance.

 Strength values: Results from strength measurements and performance diagnostics.

 Blood values: Information on relevant biomarkers in the blood, especially hemoglobin.

Functions of the app

 Secure access: Log in with an anonymous ID and password to access your personal

data.

 Convenient and individual data overview: See all the values collected as part of your

studies at a glance - clearly laid out and easy to understand.

 Transparency: Gain insights into the research results made possible by your

participation.

 Future-proof: The app is continuously being developed and adapted for new study

projects.

Data security first and foremost

The protection of your data is our top priority. The app meets the strictest data protection

standards and uses modern encryption technologies to store your information securely. Your

personal ID ensures that your data remains anonymous and can only be viewed by you.
