Surah Yasin or Surah Ya Sin is the 36th chapter in the Qur'an. This Surah consists of 83 verses, and includes the Makkiyah surahs.

Named Yes Sin because this surah starts with two Arabic alphabets Ya Sin. As well as the hidden meaning of the letters of the alphabet Alif Lam Mim or Nun which is located at the beginning of several suras of the Koran, so too the meaning of Ya Sin belongs to the category of mutasyaabihat verses.
