Meri Dukaan is a game for financial literacy. It aims to make the user aware of money related terms, government documentation, banking, insurance, taxes, loans etc.
A board-game style of play, the challenge of handling money without compromising on ethics and the race to make the highest profit, make this an exciting educational experience.
The game begins when Gupta Ji, the grocery store owner has to leave town! He has left the running of his grocery store to game players for a game period of three months! Players move around a board, selling items to customers, maintaining inventory, making decisions and being faced with different lucky or unlucky scenarios.
While doing this, players-
• learn about the importance of saving money in bank accounts and banking know-how
• learn how to manage their money, cover expenses, stay financially safe and increase income
• learn to perform mathematical bill calculation operations including discounts and offers
• get basic financial knowledge on things like credit, debt, money transfer, KYC, taxes, PAN etc.
• learn about more advanced financial topics such as loans, insurance, investments etc.
• learn to face real life scenarios circumstances and handle them
Besides doing a deep dive into money matters while running a store, Meri Dukaan also gives players a taste of entrepreneurship and simulates scenarios where they are responsible for important decisions involving large sums of money.
