★ திருப்புகழ் என்பது முருகக் கடவுள் மீது அருணகிரிநாதர் இயற்றிய ஒரு பக்தி நூல்.

★எங்கள் திருப்புகழ் செயலி 1334 பாடல்களை கொண்டுள்ளது.

★ திருப்புகழில் 1307 இசைப்பாடல்கள் உள்ளன. இவற்றுள் 1088க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சந்த வேறுபாடுகள் உள்ளன என்று கணித்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

★ திருப்புகழை தேவாரம், திருவாசகம் போல் மந்திர நூலாகவும், நாள்தோறும் இறைவனைப் போற்றிப் புகழ்பாடும் நூலாகவும், முருகன் மீது பக்தி கொண்டோர் பின்பற்றும் நூலாகவும் கொள்கின்றனர்.

★ திருப்புகழிலுள்ள இசைத்தாளங்கள் இசை நூல்களிலடங்காத தனித்தன்மை பெற்றவை.

★ திருத்தணியில் பாடப்பட்ட ’இருமல் உரோகம்..’ எனத்தொடங்கும் திருப்புகழ் ’மந்திரத் திருப்புகழ்’ எனப்படுகிறது. இத்திருப்புகழ் நோய் தீர்க்கும் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது.

★ Meaning for Thiruppugazh or Thirupugal is "Holy Praise" or "Divine Glory"

★ Thiruppugal is a 15th-century anthology of Tamil religious songs dedicated to Lord Murugan, the son of Lord Shiva, written by the poet-saint Arunagirinathar.

★ The majority of the songs are sung to Murugan, but there are also a few songs that sing of deeds of Siva or the avatars of Vishnu, and of the power of Parvathi.

★ Almost all songs end addressing Murugan as Perumal, a term that traditionally had strong associations with Tamil Vaishnavism.

About Author

⇒ Arunagirinaadhar was a Tamil great saint-poet who lived during the 15th century in Tamil Nadu, India.

⇒ He was the creator of Thiruppugazh, a book of poems in Tamil in praise of the Saivam God Murugan.

⇒ அருணகிரிநாதர், தெற்கிந்திய மாநிலமான தமிழ் நாட்டில் கி.பி. 15 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் வாழ்ந்து முருகக் கடவுள் மீது பாடல்கள் எழுதி புகழ் பெற்ற அருளாளர். இவர் திருவண்ணாமலையில் பிறந்தார்.
