It is critical to reinforce habits of deductive reasoning and critical thinking at an early development stage. When your child provides nonsensical answers to questions, offer positive reinforcement before guiding them to make the correct deduction. This builds their trust in you as a source of knowledge, and teaches them that it’s OK to ask questions if they’re confused or don’t know an answer.
